New feature is to combat trolls and increase positivity on the platform

Instagram has rolled out new features that lets users bulk delete comments, as well as the ability to pin comments and control who tags you in pictures.

The moves come as Instagram further attempts to make the social media platform a more positive place, and to combat cyberbullying.

After testing the feature and receiving positive feedback, users will now be able to select and delete 25 comments at once – and can block several accounts at once.

In future, you will also be able to pin your favourite comments to the top of past Instagram posts. The feature is a way for users to “set the tone for their account and engage with their community.”

Finally, Instagram has given you the ability to control who can tag them in comments, captions and stories; tagging is often used as a tool for internet bullies.

These additions should help Instagrammers protect against negative comment, and reward positive interactions on the platform.
