Or put yourself in your favourite films with Snapchat Cameo

An upcoming feature from Snapchat will let users swap their faces onto inanimate objects and even pets.

That’s the idea behind Snapchat Cameo, a feature that hasn’t been technically revealed but is currently being beta-tested in France. Snapchat has confirmed the existence of the feature, however, and that it is undergoing limited testing in various markets.

According to examples shown online, it appears that many users are choosing to superimpose their faces on to popular scenes from films and/or funny memes.

Cameo begins by taking a selfie to teach Snapchat what you look like. Then you can choose between either a male or female body (there are the only body types available for now). Then you can put yourself just about anywhere.

You will be able to use Cameo after updating Snapchat (if the service is available where you are) and hitting the Bitmoji button. Once everything is set up, the app does the heavy lifting and will pull separate images together to make sure the clip looks convincing.

That’s all we know for now, but there’s hope that Snapchat will officially launch Cameo in time for the festive period.
