But working out is hard (hence why its a “challenge”). Fortunately, there’s a new breed of fitness gadget that will make getting off your lardy behind a doddle.
Check out three of our favourite health and fitness gadgets, to help you smash the Dubai Fitness Challenge:
Fitbit Charge 5
Fitbit’s new flagship health tracker has been upgraded with a shiny new full-colour screen. Elsewhere it adds more features, including the ability to track skin temperature and help detect serious heart health conditions (as well as telling you when you’re in good enough shape to work out). The screen itself is wrapped in an aluminum case, in either graphite, gold or platinum.
Bose Frames Rondo
There’s now two categories when it comes to sunglasses – smart or stupid. Bose’s latest frames are particularly intelligent; capable of connecting to your smartphone for notifications as well as the let you listen to music via their built-in speakers. The open ear construction means you’ll still be able to hear the world around you mid-workout, and there’s a multi-function button for pausing and skipping songs, and a microphone for taking calls and arguing with voice assistants.
Apple Fitness+
Apple’s Fitness service has landed in the UAE – giving you access to 11 workout types, including Pilates, strength and yoga. It pairs with your Apple Watch to give you real-time metrics (such as heart rate) all while watching real instructors guide you through new workouts every week. The service also promotes a healthy amount of competition – for certain cardio workouts, Apple will show how you stack up against everyone who has taken that particular workout.
Available in November for AED37 per month
