The electric SUV was ‘teased’ after being spotted on the roads this week

Kia has decided to release new images of its 2021 Sorento – its first all-electric SUV model.

The move comes after the car was spotted in the wild.

While the official images aren’t as detailed as the ones captured by Motor 1 of the Sorento driving around Korea, the wording around the images gives us some insight as to what’s under the hood.

So what’s new about the 2021 Kia Sorento?

The 2021 version will be the first generation of the model that launched back in 2002. It will also be the first model to be electric and will come powered by a hybrid system.

Those with good Kia memories might remember that in 2007, the brand teased an electric Sorento concept back in 2007.

The new Sorento is definitely boxier than previous models. The lines going from the front to the rear have been sharpened, and the grill has been widened. In general, the new model looks more aggressive and more dominant.

Will it come with loads of tech?

Like most electric models, the new Kia Sorento is packed with technology. According to Kia, this one will have ‘advanced’ driver assistance systems, along with connectivity and infotainment features.

While we won’t know its exact specifications until the proper launch, you can count on the new Kia Sorento to be a four-wheeled Wi-Fi hub.

When’s it being launched?

The official reveal of the 2021 Kia Sorento SUV will be at the Geneva Motor Show on March 3.
