It will serve as a prequel to ‘Zelda: Breath of the Wild’

Nintendo and Koei Techmo are developing the spiritual successor to Hyrule Warriors, the title from 2014.

The new Hyrul Warriors: Age of Calamity will serve as a sequel to the original title, as well as a prequel to Breath of the Wild. The game takes place 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild, and playable characters will include Link, Zelda and the original four champions of Hyrule: Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa.

The hack-and-slash combat will sit alongside a new robust story, says Nintendo. As per usual you will be fighting off hordes of enemies at various familiar Hyrule locations, but Nintendo also promises some new puzzles this time around to unlock weapons, skills and craft materials.

So it will be more similar to Breath of the Wild then the original action title.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will arrive on Nintendo Switch November 20.
