Activision has finally revealed the teaser for the next chapter in the shooter franchise

Following an incredible amount of teasing within Call of Duty’s Battle Royale game Warzone, as well as a logo release and date leak, Activision has just revealed the teaser for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War.

Developed by Treyarch – they who have produced previous Black Ops games as well as World at War – the new game is reportedly inspired by true events (however, exactly how true gunning down many soviet agents is going to be is yet to be confirmed).

The single player will explore the Cold War era, and the geopolitical tension between the Soviet Union and the United States, as well as their individual allies.

The teaser features the story of a Soviet spy, codenamed ‘Perseus’, who allegedly attempted to sabotage the United States. No gameplay footage has been seen, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to pit the US against Russia.

For the record, Perseus in Greek Mythology was one of the greatest slayers of monsters before Hercules turned up.

You can also expect nuclear weapons to play a part in the new game, as evident by CoD Warzone where several nuclear bunkers and a nuclear weapon have been spotted. It is also rumoured that a submarine will take center stage, as that has also been spotted underneath the ice in Warzone’s reservoir area.

Expect a full trailer to drop on August 26.
