In less than 24-hours, Fortnite Season 10 will be here.
Last weekend the world watched the Fortnite World Championships, but this weekend will see the gaming world’s collective attention firmly fixated on the new season of the Battle Royale staple.
Fortnite creators – Epic Games – has been firing out teasers at an alarming rate, including hints that players might soon have time travel mechanics and mech suits.
On July 28, the developers sent out the following message:
The image shows ‘Fortnite X’ which harks back to its tenth season. However, it’s showcasing the area previously known as Dusty Depot (before that massage asteroid turned it into a huge crater called Dusty Divot).
The teaser raises some questions – including whether or not Dusty Depot will be rebuilt.
Then just yesterday, Epic sent out a new image with the caption ‘Twist Time’.
The image and captions suggest that players will be able to travel back to a time when Dusty Depot – and indeed, the entire game world – were unchanged from past events (including the whole cat robot and giant sea monster debacle).
It’s not known whether this would be done via a new weapon, or if time travel mechanics would be added to the map in general.
Epic has also hinted that there will be a new vehicle joining the game next season – mechanical suits.
The wait is almost over – Fortnite Season 10 goes live tomorrow, August 1.
