Many wilderness experiences involve being led about the bush with a guide, a loaded 4×4 and a group to keep you company. You’ll stay in safari lodges and tents that are more glamping then proper camping, and while you’ll no doubt experience the elements, you’ll most likely be looking down on them from a luxury futon.
But travel company Black Tomato wants to change all that.
The new Get Lost Adventure Experience is rough and ready. You get dropped off in an unknown and previously uncharted destination and have to explore your way through various checkpoints over several days. The catch? You’re travelling with little more than some provided equipment – like navigational tools – and your wits.
You get to choose what environment you want to be stranded in, like the jungle, the desert or outback – but that’s the only choice you get. In fact, the first inkling to where you might be headed will be when you head to the airport.
You might have to sacrifice a personal butler and cosy tent, but you will get the satisfaction of knowing that you took on the great outdoors. If you survive, that is.
Costs vary – depending on what part of the world you wish to maroon yourself on – but check out Black Tomato to know more.
