A week after releasing the first teaser trailer for the Milla Jovovich adaptation of the Monster Hunter video game franchise, the production team has showed the comparisons of the movie to the game.
And they are pretty well-matched.
The movie and the video game’s graphical renderings of many of the game’s favourite monsters – including Diablos – appear very spot-on.
The clip also includes a discussion between the film’s Director Paul W.S. Anderson, and the game’s producer and director Ryozo Tsujimoto and Kaname Fujioka.
The film stars Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich and Thai martial arist Tony Jaa. They will star alongside a crew of marines tasked with taking down these monsters (by hunting them) that includes TI Harris, Meagan Good and Diego Boneta.
According to the synopsis (of the film) the group are thrust into a parallel world that is inhabited by monsters. Then they must hunt these monsters, and hopefully survive? That’s the general idea. It’s not too cerebral, granted, but the video game franchise has won a huge number of fans for its stellar gameplay and the incredibly designed titular monsters.
Monster Hunter is scheduled to hit theatres on December 30.
