You can now walk your dog along the Palm’s new West Beach

Palm Jumeirah’s Palm West Beach just went dog-friendly.

The Palm’s new stretch of public beach officially opens this Thursday October 15, and like the Palm’s Al Ittihad Park you can bring your dog along for a walk.

Palm West Beach is also home to restaurants (such as the recently-visited Koko Bay) and public beach space (it’s a bit like Club Vista Mare’s West-Coast cousin).

Watersports activities will be launching in November, including Kayaking, paddleboarding, sea biking (what?) and electric hydrofoil surfing.

What’s that last one? Find out when Esquire went eFoiling.

Apart from Koko Bay, there are a few beachside cabanas to be rented. In future, there will be a new Mexican restaurant Senor Pico, as well as Jones The Grocer and Aprons and Hammers.

Currently, the west-side of the Palm includes hotels including Fairmont The Palm, Five Palm Jumeirah, SOHO Palm Jumeirah, the Byblos and the Hilton Palm Jumeirah.

There’s also a newly-opened promenade.

In other news, get your bi-annual umbrella handy; the UAE’s rainy season is expected to start later this week on October 16.

The rains associated with the ‘Wasm’ season are expected to hit this weekend, and will bring with it cooler temperatres and more pleasant weather.
