‘You’re The Worst’ actress Aya Cash will star in Amazon’s superhero show’s second season

The Boys has just revealed a new superhero, is set to be a significant part of the show’s second season.

You’re The Worst star Aya Cash will play Stormfront, a new member of the Seven (a mean version of The Justice League / Avengers in the Amazon show).

The Prime series is based on a set of graphic novels by Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson, which follows a group or regular men and women seeking revenge on a brutal group of superheroes.

Speaking about her character, Cash said she’s there to stir things up with Homelander (The Boys’ version of Superman).

“She’s the grenade that gets thrown into Homelander’s world and the world of the Seven,” Cash told Entertainment Weekly.

“She really causes so many problems.”

In the comic books, Stormfront is a male character a bit like Marvel’s Thor. Cash has said her take on the character is that of an empowered woman.

“I think Stormfront is like a nuclear bomb that goes off in the Seven. Maybe a nuclear bomb isn’t the right word. We’re in Chernobyl. There you go. It’s a Chernobyl thing.”

“I think she’s here to blow up Vought. She’s here to try to get Vought back to the original idea behind creating superheroes… And she can be quite the feminist. There’s a lot of, I wouldn’t say misdirect, but she also is a very empowered woman.”

Cash also said that she would be a “massive challenge” for Homelander, played by Antony Starr.

“He’s almost like a Don Draper-era character, and she’s very young and new and fresh, and that’s a massive challenge for him.”

“[He’s] used to everyone being scared of him. She matches him. That’s not to say she doesn’t understand his power and tiptoe around it sometimes, but she’s also willing to challenge him.

“Ultimately, I think the dynamic between the two is terrifying and will change who Homelander is.”

The Boys season 2 currently doesn’t have a release date but is expected to arrive towards the end of the year.
