The film will be directed by Matrix co-creator Lana Wachowski.

While full details about her character are yet to be revealed, we do know she will joining a load of well-known actors, both of the original franchise and newcomers alike.

The Matrix 4 has already confirmed Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, and will also star Jonathan Groff, Jessica Henwick, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris.

Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow said the cast has been in fight training for weeks, with production set to start over the next month.

Before she can start production on The Matrix, however, Priyanka Chopra Jonas must first finish her new series Citadel, on Amazon Prime. Directed by The Russo Brothers (they who directed Avengers: Endgame) the series is still shrouded in mystery.

Indeed, no one quite knows even what genre The Citadel will be (although rumours point to an intrigue-filled spy drama).
