The touching message was sent via social media

Dubai’s Crown Prince has sent a touching tribute to the late Kobe Bryant.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, as well as his brother Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Media Council, sent messages of condolence to basketball icon Kobe Bryant.

Sheikh Hamdan posted his message on Instagram, saying “You carried an inspirational message to our youth in Dubai and helped them accomplish their dreams.”

“Heroes come and go, but legends are forever” Kobe Bryant”.

The words were set against a black backdrop, with pictures of Bryant’s visit to the UAE in 2013.

“The sporting world has lost an inspiration, an icon that millions looked up to. #RIPKobe” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed via Twitter.

Kobe Bryant was confirmed dead on Sunday night, after a helicopter crash in California. According to the Los Angeles Times, at least nine people died in the crash including Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

Bryant is considered one of the best basketball players of all time, with five NBA championships to his name. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers during all 20 of his years in professional basketball.

Kobe Bryant was a basketball giant. But it was his dedication that made him a legend.
