The pilot for Green Arrow and the Canaries aired last night on The CW network, giving Arrow lovers a peek at the planet Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) sacrificed himself for but at the planned series spinoff.
Unlike other pilots, this was aired on the television network as part of the epilogue of series crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths.
The episode took audiences to an idyllic Star City 2040 and was eagerly anticipated by fans who have come to adore Mia and her future story since the character’s debut in Arrow Season 7.
Obviously, being the daughter fan-favourite Queen, and effectively-becoming The Arrow in the penultimate episode of ‘Crisis’, the pilot had a lot to live up to. But fans are loving Green Arrow and the Canaries and haven’t been shy on social media asking for more.

Last night’s episode found Mia’s idyllic life turned upside down when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) showed up searching for her help, which effectively restored her previously wiped memories from Crisis. It turns out that although Oliver did save his city, it is going to be in danger once more and Mia becoming the new Green Arrow is the key to saving it once more.
The episode sets everything up viewers need to learn about Mia’s potential as The Green Arrow, and teases an intriguing new mystery central to the plot.
Social media lit up last night with praise for the episode in addition to profound interest in finding out what is next for Mia, Laurel, and Dinah as they look to saving the future.
While the show has not yet been confirmed by The CW, let’s hope we do see more of Green Arrow and the Canaries.
