Having a happy and productive workforce is a huge priority for the UAE.
Dubai has already established many initiatives revolving around workplace happiness and stability, and yesterday Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, agreed to a new salary scheme for employees of the government.
Sheikh Hamdan said, “This new salary scheme is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and also the Ruler of Dubai”
“Investing in human capital and retention of talent [and] developing the government’s human resources and happiness […] is a top priority.
According to the new strategy, government workers will get an average salary increase of 10 per cent. Professional employees will be given salary growth ranging from 9 per cent to 16 per cent.
As part of providing a fantastic work-life balance for the government’s workers, the strategy contains provisions for flexible working hours, working from home and part-time jobs. The strategy specifies a minimal wage for new Emirati graduates and summarises travel allowance, health insurance, and end of service benefits.
The Crown Prince also approved the creation of a placement committee, which would help those entering the job market further develop in their careers.
