El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is coming on October 11, and as that date inches closer, we’re being graced with more and more details. The latest is that Badger is returning.
Breaking Bad, the five-season epic on Walter White and Jesse Pinkman’s rise and fall in the meth empire, ended more than six years ago. In 2019 we’re getting the continuation we all wanted, and turns out we’re also getting some returning cast we wanted too. We know what you’re thinking though, is Mr White coming back?
As per the teaser trailer given to us, we already know that Skinny Pete, played by Charles Baker, is in the film in some capacity. He is seen being questioned by authorities on the whereabouts of Jesse, to which Pete refuses to answer.
Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we now know that Badger, played by Matt Jones is also making an appearance in the film. Badger along with Skinny Pete were two of Jesse’s junkie friends. As the show progressed, Jesse separated from them more and more to go professional with Walt. Badger and Pete appeared in the series finale, posing as unseen hitmen for Walt.
The movie is set to follow the life of Jesse following his escape from the compound he was imprisoned in. The description to the film is annoyingly cryptic, stating:
“In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”
Right now we have three character’s we’re about as sure will appear as Walt’s meth is pure, which is 99.1%. Skinny Pete, Badger and Jesse. For avid fans of the original show, we’ll want more than that. We want Walter.
Fans were thrown a curveball when it turned out all of Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston’s synchronised posts were about a drink launch rather than a film launch. What we’re grasping onto right now is two recent posts from Paul.
Posting two still images of his character, Paul captioned the posts with: “Hello old friend.” And “Hello old friend. Times are about to get a little more rough for you.”
Who exactly is this old friend? Paul talking about his character Jesse? Jesse meeting Badger and Pete? Or perhaps Jesse meeting Mr White once again?
