Days before the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing – on July 20 – Apple has unveiled a new trailer for Snoopy in Space.
The cartoon centers on the cartoon dog and his dreams of becoming an astronaut. When Snoopy and his friend Woodstock tag along with the Peanuts kids on a field trip to NASA, they are picked for a special mission to space.
Naturally, Charlie Brown and the gang assist as mission’ control.
The clip shows Snoopy joyfully floating through space, before falling back to earth.
Snoopy in Space will debut on Apple TV+, the new subscription service from the tech giant which will feature original shows, movies and documentaries.
Fun space fact: the spacecraft for the Apollo 10 rocket shares some history with the Peanuts series. The lunar module was called Snoopy (supposedly, because it ‘snooped’ around the moon in May 1969).
Last year, Peanuts partnered up with NASA on a five-year Space Act Agreement, designed to get kids interested in space exploration and science.
