Yes, bars are closed, along with lounges, gyms, swimming pools, tourist sites, night clubs and museums until March 31. Social distancing is the new “in” phrase everyone keeps throwing around, and the world as we know it has gone, in the words of the Marvelous Mrs Maisel, completely “t*ts up”.
Despite the calls for self-islolation, people who have been looking at ways around these imposed bans with “house parties” have now been asked by authorities in Dubai to avoid hosting them altogether.

Even Sheikh Hamdan has come out and said that all these measures imposed are “aimed at protecting the community”.

Since the announcement, many people have been asking: what constitutes a party? Is it three people? 10 people? 20? While authorities have yet to clarify, the answer to that is simple. The whole point of social distancing is to stop the spread of the virus and help flatten the curve.
So if you had plans to throw either a massive rager at home or a small gathering, well, now is probably the time to rethink it and to hold off until things return to the status quo.
