And when we mean everyone, we mean everyone. From J.Lo and Idris Elba (hello former cover star!), to Mo Al Turk (hello current cover star!) to Mark Ronson and Naomi Campbell, the One&Only One Za’abeel opening weekend in Dubai, which took place on February 10, 2024, featured some of the biggest names in film, music, fashion, and entertainment, all of whom flew out for the exclusive, red-carpeted event.

But J.Lo, Mark Ronson, Idris Elba, Anas Bukhash (yup, another cover star) and Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram (among others) weren’t simply hanging out at the star-studded event but graced those in attendance with a live musical performance. And for those of you who didn’t know, Idris Elba is a pretty kickass DJ on top of already being a world-famous actor. On Ajram’s official Instagram, she described the location as “Dubai’s newest haven.”

Others in attendance included Vincent Cassel, Vanessa Hudgens, tennis player Emma Raducanu, Hong Kong actress and businesswoman Angela Yeung Wing, and many more.

The architectural masterpiece that is One&Only One Za’abeel, Dubai looks as if Optimus Prime decided he wanted to become an architect. And somehow, it defies the laws of gravity, forcing physics to take a backseat as a luxury spectacle is the only thing that really matters.

Having now officially opened nearby the Dubai World Trade Centre and DIFC areas, the hotel describes itself as the city’s “first urban vertical resort.”

On top of endless rooms, suites, restaurants, and more, the hotel boasts a 755-square-metre Villa One penthouse which features an outdoor infinity pool, cinema, in-suite gym, and a private chef (invite to J.Lo’s next house party not included). And all the celebrities and guests in attendance were gifted a stay at the hotel, being the first to officially try out this new landmark in Dubai’s rapidly growing, and already impressive, skyline.
