Dubai Mall boutique plays host to vintage Heuer watches

Vintage TAG Heuer fans, rejoice. The new Heuer Globetrotter exhibition has landed in Dubai. The brand has gathered almost 400 collective vintage watches from across the world, to exhibit them in ten cities – Dubai is one of them – over the course of 15 days.

Rather than creating one large exhibition, and then flying it around the world, TAG Heuer has chosen to organize ten mini exhibitions all over the world. Each location has its own theme and line-up of vintage watchers, all picked by local collectors in each city.

For Dubai, the brand concentrated on Heuer’s history of sailing and diving watches and featured some noteworthy watches from TAG Heuer’s Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds, as well as private collectors Yousuf Gargash and Daniel Gambba-Jones.

“I discovered Heuer rather recently,” said Gargash, “and I felt immediately passionate about the brand. Diving in the history of such a rich brand is very inspiring for my daily way of life to always re-invent yourself like Heuer was able to do.”

The Globetrotter exhibition is spread around the world, in nine other cities besides Dubai. Other themes and cities include connections to Formula 1 racing (Singapore), which features a yellow gold Carrera gifted to Ferrari drivers and the Heuer Monaco’s place in history (Paris), which includes an actual Heuer Monaco worn by Steve McQueen in the movie Le Mans.
