Chopard made quite the splash last year when it introduced a brand new model to the market.
Called the Alpine Eagle it soared to the top of many collectors’ ‘want lists’ due to its retro-inspired, modern design and its sporty integrated bracelet.
Twelve months on, the Swiss watchmaker’s Alpine Eagle collection has begun to stretch its wings – introducing a flyback chronograph in a new 44mm diameter case that it is calling the Alpine Eagle XL Chrono.
Available in three versions – Lucent Steel A223 with an Aletsch Blue or Pitch Black dial and a bi-material version combining Lucent Steel A223 and ethical rose gold with a Pitch Black dial – the Alpine Eagle XL Chrono timepieces have integrated bracelets and continues to take its design inspiration from nature, specifically the eagle and the beauty of the Alps.

Well, not necessarily for its work. The work of the Speedmaster that was on the wrist of Jim Lovell, who used its precision timekeeping to guide a calculated burn that got the worse-for-wear spacecraft back to Earth.
To honor its achievement, NASA bestowed on the Swiss watchmaker the Silver Snoop Award, a title that Omega has chosen to display proudly on certain Speedmater editions.
