Apple’s big iPhone announcement was made tonight, and we now know that the iPhone 12 Pro will be available in the UAE starting AED4,199. But if you want to get your hands on one of the first models, it’s best to pre-order (starting October 16).
The new model shares quite a bit with its slightly lower-end brother the iPhone 12. You can check that out right here.
The big news is in the design department: the iPhone 12 Pro has been given an overhaul and now sports the same flat sides as the previous iPhone 4 (much like the iPad Air and iPad Air Pro).
It also uses the same Apple A14 Bionic processor as the entire iPhone 12 line, which boats 50 per cent better performance over the previous silicon. It also boasts 5G wireless speeds, along with some handy technology that will effectively make the most of that better connection (but not drain your battery).
But Apple did save the best technology for its Pro model, and the new iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen (that’s brighter and stronger than ever), triple camera modules with an additional zoom lens and support for LiDAR.
The iPhone 12 Pro now has 2x optical zoom, as well as 87 per cent better performance in low light. And thanks to a better optical image stabilization system it should take far better shots in low or dim light than ever before.
The Pro models also comes with Apple’s new ProRAW format, which should give users who like to tinker with their photos that much more control. That LiDAR scanner should also improve autofocus speeds.
It also comes in a few new colours: graphite, silver, gold and pacific blue.
The iPhone 12 Pro will start at AED4,199 when it arrives on October 23. You’ll be able to pre-order the new model starting October 16.
