Abu Dhabi is building a new e-sports complex – called Pixel – that will host professional teams, games, and include the region’s only certified training academy.
The new e-sports hub will be inside a new waterfront development Al Qana, and be the emirate’s largest e-sports and virtual gaming complex. The news was announced by Al Barakah International Investment, which is developing the complex.
Pixel will be completed next year, and will be open to families, gamers (both amateur and professional) as well as general technology-lovers.
The virtual reality aspect will be contributed by Robocom VR based out of Lebanon. You might remember Robocom as they recently launched a new virtual reality gaming rig in partnership with Hasbro mega-brand Transformers.
The Pixel will also host an e-sports academy which will put responsibility at its core. The hub will feature training rooms with top-notch equipment, as well as an events space to hold international tournaments.

The games industry was one of the few in the world that hasn’t been too negatively affected by the COVID-19 virus. Currently, the industry is the world’s biggest currently work almost US$150 billion per year.
The Al Qana complex is set to open in Abu Dhabi by the end of this year – however Pixel won’t be open until next year.
