Etihad Airways has updated its travel policy for both residents and tourists travelling into Abu Dhabi; those flying into the capital are now “required to wear a medically approved wristband for the duration” of their 14-day quarantine.
Regardless of your negative COVID test before you fly, anyone entering Abu Dhabi is required to self-isolate at home for 14-days. These wristbands will ensure that these quarantine measures are taken seriously.
Abu Dhabi won’t be the first city to use such tracking bands to help control the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier in the year the city of Hong Kong provided electronic wristbands to arriving passengers. As of today, it has had less then 5,000 cases.

After 12 days of isolation, those in quarantine will must ask permission to leave home in order to get a PCR test. If that test is negative, you are free to go about your business (while wearing your mask, of course).
According to the new Etihad Destination guide:
Upon arrival in Abu Dhabi all passengers will be required to undergo a COVID-19 test and undergo self-isolation for two weeks, as well as now having to wear a tracking wristband.
