Rüya’s new brunch offers posh Turkish cuisine, alongside chilled-out vibes and great food

Rüya has not just embraced the longstanding Dubai tradition of the Friday Brunch, but done so in style.

The Turkish restaurant helmed by British chef Colin Clague (the man responsible for the likes of award-winning eateries like Zuma) puts on a culinary show like no other, with a range of authentic dishes found nowhere else in Dubai – and all of it washed down with a glass of bubbly.

Expect chilled-out vibes when you walk through the door, although we reckon that might change once the city finds out that Rüya’s now open for brunch business. There are a few seating areas, ranging from the back of the restaurants – which is firmly inside and near the kitchen –  outside on the terrace, or on the fringe of both next to the large French doors which are kept open during the colder months.

The terrace offers the best view, letting brunch guests watch the yachts meander about the marina, all while providing a refreshing sea breeze.

The food here is simple; there’s a buffet selection of raw and cold dishes. Grills and pides (Turkish flat breads that are baked fresh from the restaurant’s huge oven) are brought straight to the table, while mains and egg dishes can be ordered from the staff. Desserts are also served buffet-style, in front of the open kitchen.

We’d be remiss to mention that anyone who walks through the door at Rüya should immediately order the restaurant’s signature two cheese and egg pide. Gluten and egg intolerances be damned, this incredibly simple dish is somehow far more than its simple ingredients would suggest.

The Rüya brunch is available from 12:00 – 4:00 pm every Friday.
