The all-new 2020 Land Rover Defender marks a new era for the legendary 4×4

The all new Land Rover Defender, a tough contender and possibly one of the most capable off roaders ever built has arrived on UAE shores this week amidst all the Covid-19 obstacles.

Al Tayer Motors having received the world’s first retail units for the few very special customers will get the next shipment for the general public around Q3 of this year.

The Land Rover Defender once called the Land Rover Ninety and Land Rover One Ten, both numbers corresponding to the length of the wheel base inches was first developed in the 1980s. Today the Defender proudly preserves the lineage derived from the classic Land Rovers, the launch dates back to the Amsterdam motor show in April 1948.

The Classic Land Rovers have been a familiar sight since the 1950s when the UAE was referred to as the Trucial States. Production of the Defender stopped in 2016, with sporadic appearances of special editions over the years. The all-new 2020 Land Rover Defender marks a new era for the legendary four by four and is offered with two wheelbase options, just like its predecessor. What sets these apart from the earlier models start with the unmistakeable exterior that makes most of today’s vehicles look dated, sleek lines combine with sharp edges gives the vehicle a look of its own.

Despite its immense all-terrain capability these feats of engineering come with Keyless Entry, Electric steering column, 12-way electric memory front seats with 2-way manual headrests, 10 speakers plus subwoofer and a Blind Spot Assist Pack, you would not find any of those in the 1950s’.
