That makes seven in a row for the Italian watchmaker

No stranger to setting records for its the thinness of its Octo Finissimo range, Bulgari has added another ground-breaker to its famed collection: the world’s slimmest Perpetual Calendar.

Originally introduced in 2014, the Octo Finissimo was an unusual watch. It had an integrated bracelet, a minimalist design and an ultra-thin automatic movement.

After succeeding with the first of its ultra-miniaturisations it continued to adapt the mentality to a minute repeater, chronograph and tourbillon. And now, the Italian watchmaker has managed to adapt it to a Perpetual Calendar piece.

Unveiled during a virtual presentation at Watches and Wonders 2021, the record-setting Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar is available in two variations: the “signature” titanium like all Bulgari’s World Record, and a platinum version.

Now the collection’s seventh(!) world record, the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar is the slimmest perpetual calendar watch on the market, with a total thickness of 5.80mm containing a movement that measures 2.75mm.

The sandblasted titanium watch miraculously contains 408 components inside the 40mm case, miniature moving parts that power the hours and minutes hands along with all the perpetual calendar functions: retrograde-display date, day, month and retrograde-display leap years. It’s a remarkable achievement.
