TAG Heuer has unveiled a new blue design for its tourbillon-equipped Carrera chronograph.
The original sports watch was launched back in 2016. It boasted a chronograph function and a tachometer, as well as a tourbillon as its beating heart. Most impressive, however, was the price; at US$20,000 it was by far the most affordable Swiss tourbillon in existence, let alone from a brand of note and heritage.

Fast forward five years, and the chrono-tourbillon has seen a few colours changes. It has been both black and red, as well as brown and gold (the latter colourway was unique to the brand’s previous motorsport association with Aston Martin Racing).
Last year the brand celebrated 160-years of the Carrera.
However, this marks the first time the watch has gone blue (cerulean blue, to be exact). You can see the accented colour along the sunray brushed dial, ceramic bezel, winding rotor and the tourbillon cage at the six o’clock position.
The watch is wrapped in a 45 mm grade 5 titanium case, with a bracelet made from the same hardy material. It’s water resistant up to 100-meters.

The Heuer 02T movement is chronometer certified, which means its accuracy can be guaranteed to -4/+6 seconds per day. And that’s a flying tourbillon at the six o’clock position, meaning there is no upper bridge (to block the view of the escapement).
TAG is only producing 250 individually numbered editions of the Carrera Tourbillon Chronograph. It’s available right now for around US$21,000. For more information, go here.
