Anyone who knows of Breitling CEO, Georges Kern, will know of his love of the great outdoors. When he’s not showing off the latest gems from the watchmaker’s design labs, he is normally climbing up a winding mounting road as part of his triathlon training, or surfing waves with Kelly Slater.
Since implementing his wide scale repackaging of the Swiss watch brand in 2017, Kern’s vision of Breitling is best embodied by its ‘Squads’ of expert brand ambassadors that are closely associated with particular collections—the aforementioned Slater, for example, is part of Breitling’s ‘Surfer Squad’.
It comes as no surprise then that alongside the release the brand’s new Endurance Pro timepiece, a ‘Triathlon Squad’ has been assembled.
“When Jan Frodeno became the first member of our Triathlon Squad, he asked me what Breitling he should wear,” explains Kern. “We started brainstorming about the perfect sporty lifestyle watch and that conversation led to the development of the Endurance Pro.”
Inspired by the Breitling Sprint (a memorable watch from the 1970s) the Endurance Pro was designed for men and women whose active lives blend a professional mindset with a sporty lifestyle—equal to the challenges of a rigorous workout but fashionable enough for everyday wear.

The Breitling Endurance Pro combines an ultra-lightweight 44mm Breitlight case and a thermo- compensated SuperQuartz movement, which Breitling claim is ten times more accurate than conventional quartz. At the heart of the Endurance Pro is the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 82.
“With this watch, we adapted our SuperQuartz technology to the needs of people like Jan who play as hard as they work,” says Kern. “The Breitlight case, for example, is so light that it won’t interfere with anyone’s training routine or sporting activity.”
There are five colorful variations of the new Breitling Endurance Pro. Each one features a black dial and a black bidirectional rotating bezel with engraved cardinal compass points, and presented on either a Diver Pro rubber strap or a Outerknown ECONYL yarn NATO strap (above).
