Richard Mille is known for its modern and futuristic watches, but has today decided to wind back the clock – quite literally.
The brand has just unveiled a retro-styled pocket watch. The new RM 020 reimagines what the concept of a pocket watch would mean for moder times.
The new timepiece has a carbon nanofiber baseplate, that was created under incredible temperatures – 2,000-degrees centigrade. The resulting metal is incredibly strong, able to withstand most physical and chemical damage.

The watch measures 62mm by 52mm, and the manually-wound tourbillon movement has hours, minutes and a power reserve on the dial. There’s also a Cheval Freres crown – a feature that stops users’ ability to ower-wind the watch.
The piece is topped off by a rugged chain in titanium. You also get a matching desk stand, for those looking to keep the pocket watch in one place.
Richard Mille has not yet revealed how much the RM 020 is, nor are there are release dates.
