Watch Louis Vuitton’s Menswear Fall/Winter 2019 Runway Show

Virgil Abloh‘s debut as the artistic director of Louis Vuitton last year was the most exciting thing that happened to menswear in years. And now, we get to find out what happens next.

All eyes are on Abloh to see what he brings next to follow up on The Wizard of Oz-inspired clothing from Spring/Summer 2019. While you wait for the livestream to begin, you can refresh your memory and check out Abloh’s debut LV collection here

While you wait, you can also check out Virgil Abloh’s Off-White store which recently opened its stores here in the UAE, at the Dubai Mall. Naturally, Esquire was the first to check it out.

So what do we know about his Fall/Winter 2019 collection? Quite a bit, and the jewelled first is a dead giveaway. Abloh is designing a collection based on Michael Jackson.

Here’s what he said: “I can’t work in my studio without music. I don’t like silence. I’m listening to John Coltrane. I’m listening to Miles Davis. But I’m also listening to whatever new rap is coming out that week. I have teams in Milan, Italy, London, and America, so as long as I have a fully charged iPhone, I feel like I can change the world. I’m talking on that phone, but I’m also constantly listening to music. My next Louis Vuitton collection is going to be based on Michael Jackson, and when I have Michael singing in the background, it’s a different type of shirt, it’s a different kind of boot, it’s a different fit of pants. Music is key.”
