Celebrating 150 years of history, Dubai is getting its own exclusive collection

With 10 exhibitions, 10 cities, and 10 themes TAG Heuer is celebrating more than 150 years of history by bringing together 400 pieces for a worldwide exhibition known as ‘Heuer Globetrotter’. These exhibitions are being organised for the first time as a close collaboration between TAG Heuer and its collectors in order to showcase the brand’s esteemed heritage.

For two weeks from the 16th September, ten TAG Heuer boutiques across the world will each exhibit a themed collection featuring vintage Heuer models from the Manufacture museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds, as well as pieces loaned by local collectors. A total of 400 pieces will be exhibited simultaneously in 10 countries with 10 specific themes.

Dubai will be playing host to one of these collections, with the theme for this region being ‘sailing and diving’. Water, surfing, and sailing have always played an important part of the TAG Heuer brand and the company’s close links to the sea.

The brand patented the invention of one of the first water-resistant cases for a pocket watch in 1895, having also created the world’s first chronograph with a dial for regattas and a tide level indicator. The centrepiece of the Dubai exhibition will be the Seafarer or Maréograph from 1950, the world’s first chronograph with tide indicators. The watch will be exhibited at TAG Heuer FR Boutique in Dubai Mall (located at the Gold Souk Atrium, Level G).
