Wait, is Kanye West going to work with Jordan?

That’s the impression the music and fashion impresario left on Instagram after posting the iconic Jumpman logo, teasing a partnership that is the dream of many across the world.

Kanye West, or Ye as he now wants to be called, is on a creative high right now, not only dropping an excellent new song with The Game last week, but his fashion game is flourishing more than ever before, with his Gap YZY collaboration selling out each drop, a Balenciaga collab in the works, as well as his Adidas partnership with Yeezy still the most likely shoe you will see on feet at The Dubai Mall, and seemingly everywhere else in the world.

It’s been years now since West left Nike to work with Adidas, but even as he has reached new heights since, his work with Nike remains unparalleled, and old pairs of Air Yeezys 1 and 2 now fetch record prices at auction.

Working with Jordan, however, independent of Nike proper, could be an intriguing possibility.

During West’s recent trip to Miami, he recorded with DJ Khaled, leading to Michael Jordan’s son Marcus, owner of the Trophy Room store in Orlando, Florida to comment on Khaled’s Instagram account and propose a meeting.

“Let’s make a convo happen,” wrote Marcus. “Kanye West and pops”

West has since posted not only the Jumpman logo and a screenshot of Marcus’ post, with nothing else as of yet. Over the years, Kanye has spoken numerous times about wanting to meet with Michael Jordan.

Back in 2015, of course, Kanye was singing a sifferent tune, rapping “Yeezy just jumped over Jumpman” on his track “Facts”.

He apologized to Michael on Twitter a year later, in February 2016, writing, “I’m sorry Michael Jordan I love and respect you. My beef is with Mark Parker,” wrote Kanye, referring to the former Nike CEO. “I respect you so much!”

Now hopefully that respect will blossom into something special.

Hey even Ye’s estranged wife Kim Kardashian was wearing some AM95s today, after years of wearing just Yeezys. Maybe nature is finally healing?
