Netflix is dropping a trilogy of documentaries about Kanye West starting on February 16, and it promises to shed light on the iconiclastic musician and fashion entrpereneur like nothing has before.
Dropping a new installment once a week for three weeks starting in mid-Feb, the documentary, entitled jeen-yuhs (read: genius) in three acts from Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Onzah.
“jee-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy
is an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist,” says a statement from Netflix.

The documentary teaser features an instantly iconic moment when Mr. West is asked why he calls himself a genius, to which he looks directly into the camera and smiles.
The doc features unseen archival footage from the past 21 yers, including his career in music and fashion, as well as his unsuccessful 2020 presidential campagin, and the death of his mother Donda West.

Netflix reportedly acquired the documentary for $30 million, and it will premiere at Sundance this month in an all-digital edition of the famed event.
Will this be The Last Dance of 2022? It remains to be seen. And while fans are champing at the bit to see the trilogy, it will be interesting to see if the dcoumentary can win the famously-polarizing figure any new fans.
