Sneaker and gamer culture have collided once again with the new Paul George PG5 X PS5 sneakers.
Those of you who wish to wear your #PSPride on your sleeve, (well…feet, technically), can do so by flaunting a pair next month.
The shoes are headed for a May 27 for a price of $120 in North America, and should be headed to the UAE on May 14.
Back in 2018, Nike had collaborated with Sony in order to develop the first PlayStation-themed shoe inspired by the then-current PS4 for NBA star Paul George which featured a light up PlayStation logo as well as his signature logo on the tongues of each respective shoe. PlayStation aren’t kidding when they say “Play Has No Limits’.
Paul George, who now plays for the Los Angeles Clippers, has mentioned that he’s one of the biggest gamers in the NBA, even participating in the Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am tournament in 2018 which donated money to a charity of the winners choosing.
He’s always wanted to represent his love for all things Sony while he’s on the basketball court. Now that dream continues with his new PG5 X PS5 shoes, which first surfaced on social media back in March, sporting two different colorways which draw inspiration from the current gen console.
The white represents the body of the console and features a pattern of the various buttons found on the PlayStation controller with a nebula blue representing the blue lights of the console.
Previous Nike/PlayStation collaborations have been extremely limited in supply so don’t miss out on a chance to own some current generation shoes or you’ll have to wait for the PS6 collab years down the line.
