The Adidas Originals x South Park Campus 80 “Towelie” are coming to the UAE.
The shoes feature the classic South Park character Towelie, who debuted 20 years ago in the eight episode of the show’s fifth season. The character became instantly iconic at the time, inspiring a ton of merchandise in the early 00s and his catch phrases becoming a part of the vernacular.
The Adidas Campus 80s are built very uniquely, a low top featuring a purple terry cotton upper with contrasting white leather on the Trefoil-branded heel tab, all with the signature Adidas three stripes on the side.
On the shoe’s tongue are Towelie’s cartoon eyes, which become pink and bloodshot when they’re under UV light.
The tongue interior has a small pocket, over which are inscribed “Don’t Forget to Bring a Towel” and “I Have No Idea What’s Going On” on the left and right respectively, both Towelie’s favourite sayings.
In the UAE, it will be released in UK7 to UK11 sizing.
South Park, the brainchild of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, has been running strong since 1997, releasing more than 300 episodes, the most recent of which “The Vaccine Special” aired in March.
