One of the summer’s hottest shoes finally has a UAE drop date. The Air Jordan 1 Hyper Royal will be available on April 17 at 2:00 PM GST.
It’s priced at AED 779 in the country, and available in full family and women’s sizing.
It’s a gorgeous shoe, similar in some ways to the University Blue AJ1 that sold out almost instantly in the UAE last month. This, however, features a softer palette, with a distressed blue suede and with a light grey swoosh instead of a black one, with a light smoke grey balancing out the white underlay and ‘hyper royal’ blues.
Jordan 1s are incredibly hard to get in the UAE at the moment, with most selling out instantly, and raffle culture leaving most out of luck. The resale market is also as big as ever, with the University Blue model now reselling for around AED 2000, much more than double the original price.
The Hyper Royal is similar to the 2019 Air Jordan 1 High “Turbo Green”, which is now reselling for around AED 3650, and the Hyper Royal should reach similar levels of value and popularity quite soon, in an even more popular colourway.
The Air Jordan 1 debuted more than 35 years ago, and its timelessness and versatility has kept it popular throughout the world.
