When we first caught wind of the collaboration between Virgil Abloh and Nigo in December, our ears pricked. The meeting of two design geniuses? That’s a hard yes for us. Now the slick as a whistle look book has been revealed? Our ears are more than pricked – they’re stood to attention, Doberman pinscher style, and we want every single piece of the LV2 collection.

Virgil and Nigo, the founder of Human Made, Bape and (co-founder of) Billionaire Boys Club have fused their street sensibilities with an unexpected point of reference that would look more at home on the set of Quadrophenia: The London Mod-era Dandy boy. Immaculately cropped-tailoring, fur-lined parka jackets and a charcoal heavy palette bare an unexpected Baba O’Riley aesthetic, but that doesn’t stop the strong seam of street that remains throughout – this is Virgil and Nigo, after all. The Louis Vuitton Damier check dances across Canadian tuxedos – or Canadian three-pieces, should you include the denim bucket hats. In a nod to Japanese, Nigo founded ‘Human Made’, a flight jacket bares a Mount Fuji graphic emblazoned with the words ‘LV Made’.

While the big-fit outerwear and monogrammed co-ords are big, big moods in themselves, the collaborations biggest flex is the accessories. The Louis Vuitton monogram melts down a checkerboard shopping tote, a strap-heavy backpack takes on a supersized fit, and for those in need of their logomania-Louis fix the LV2 symbol is presented across logo brooches, bracelets and trucker caps.

That’ll be us listening to ‘A Town Called Malice’ on repeat until the collection drops in September, then.
