In what is either a genius concept or the ultimate product placement – Mr Porter has teamed up with Kingsman: The Golden Circle to bring the spies uniforms (immaculately tailored Savile Row suits) to your wardrobe. And this isn’t the first time.
The first Kingsman: The Secret Service film – released in 2015 – capitalized on this idea, and let viewers pick up the same clothes actors worn by Taron Egerton and Colin Firth.
The second in the Kingsman series doubles down on this concept, offering clothing worn by both of the movie’s main factions. The Kingsman – the sartorially-savvy British spy outfit – come clad in made-to-measure brands like Turnbull & Asser, Drake’s, George Cleverley, and Cutler & Gross. While the Statesmen – the Kingsman’s US counterparts – come dressed in a variety of laid-back Western styles.
The entire collection (if a film can have a collection, that is) is a mixture of orange velvet smoking jackets and demure double-breasted suits, and are offset by rugged denim, thick suede and shearling, and utilitarian cowboy boots and hats.
The team at Mr Porter worked alongside director Matthew Vaughn and the Kingsman’s costume designer, Arianne Philipps, to ensure each piece in the collection matches the costumes worn by the actors.
They also tapped a whole host of new brands to bring the Statesmen’s Americana-inspired sportswear to life—from New York City’s Jeans Shop for denim, Adidas for laid-back sneakers, and Stetson for classically crafted cowboy hats.
