Reebok’s new campaign for its Zig Kinetica sneakers might as well be titled, “Conor McGregor kicks the ever-living shiz outta some toys”.
That’s my opinion after watching the new short film, which sees the MMA fighter shrink down and become an action figure, and then melt a toy’s head off with a hairdryer.
The UFC champion is preparing for his next bout later this month, but that hasn’t stopped him from appearing in Reebok’s ‘Sport the Unexpected’ campaign.
The short film sees McGregor walking in to his son’s messy bedroom, before morphing into a toy and beating the stuffing out of rogue toys.
“I absolutely love these, the grip, the stability,” said McGregor of the shoes.
“I feel the connection from the sole to the material.” He added: “I’ve been around with Reebok a long time now, and each launch, the energy level is climbing. Now we are exploding.”
The fighter didn’t mention what exactly makes these shoes so good at fighting small toys.
“The launch of the Zig Kinetica is a watershed moment for Reebok as we look toward the future of this brand and cement ourselves as an industry leader, sitting directly at the intersection of sport and style,” said Matt Blonder, VP, Marketing and Digital Brand Commerce at Reebok.
The film ends on a cliffhanger, so expect more Toy McGregor kicking the shiz outta other toys in future.
