Citadel is a spy drama from the directors of ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden are set to star alongside each other in a new spy series from Amazon called Citadel.

The series is being executive produced by Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo, along with ex ABC Studios president Patrick Moran and Mike Larocca.

According to Amazon, Citadel will be a multi-series franchise with local productions simultaneously made in Italy, India and Mexico. Little more is known about the project, except that Chopra and Madden will be part of the ‘mothership’ a codename for the project.

Chopra took to Instagram to break the news, saying she looks forward to both working with The Russo Brothers and The Bodyguard star Madden.

“Cannot wait to work alongside the super talented @maddenrichard and incredible @therussobrothers on this new series,” the star said on Instagram.

“Get ready! ‘CITADEL’ will be a multi-layered global franchise with interconnected local language productions from India, Italy and Mexico. It will truly be global content. More details soon. @amazonstudios @agbofilms #CITADEL” she continued.

The show is expected to start production ‘very soon’.

Chopra previously starred in ABC’s Quantico and has also featured in films such as Baywatch and Isn’t It Romantic. She can also be seen in Netflix’s The White Tiger adaptation.

In December, it was announced that her and husband Nick Jonas would be producing an unscripted musical series for Amazon, based around Sangeet.

Madden has just finished production on Marvel’s The Eternals. Looks like he’s not taking much time off between productions.
