Yatay’s unisex sneakers look good and help promote a greener world

Sustainable footwear-maker and promoter of Vegan leather Yatay has teamed up with No More Plastic in hopes to promote more sustainable practices in the world of fashion. And it has proven a big hit with celebrities such as Helena Christensen and Cindy Bruna.

The shoes have a positive footprint (huzzah!) and is produced using aboslutely no standard plastic. All the materials used in the shoes are organic, including the vegan leather that makes up the sides and uppers of its shoes.

Yatay recently teamed up with No More Plastic, and will be donating 50 per cent of the proceeds to the environmental charity.

To help promote the partnership, the footwear-maker drafted in four of its biggest fans – Amelia Windsor, Azza Slimene, Cindy Bruna and Helena Christensen – to create custom pairs of unisex shoes that are available exclusively online.

“Yatay have mastered the combination of traditional Italian craftsmanship that has been passed down for generations with the new and exciting materials that are completely respectful to the planet,” says model Amelia Windsor.

“With this collection they created a shoe that is not only kind to the planet because it’s 100% plastic-free, but also durable and stylish.”

“I have been supporting the No More Plastic Foundation for two years now because plastic pollution undoubtedly is one of the biggest scourges of our time,” says Danish supermodel Helena Christensen.

“It was obvious for me to participate in this project they’re doing with Yatay, a cruelty free shoe company, who are producing bio-based material, plastic-free sneakers, the shoe being the first of its kind”.
