Roger Federer and Swiss performance running brand, On, have combines to release an all-new tennis-inspired shoe, The Roger.
Seemingly taking a leaf out of Michael Jordan’s book, the tennis G.O.A.T. Federer has not only collaborated with On, but is actively involved in the release of what they hope will be a game-changing performance tennis sneaker.
Officially known as The Roger Centre Court, 0-Series will be an individually numbered edition that is limited to 1,000 pairs. It features black stitches and On’s trademarked black Speedboard – an ultra-soft sock-construction. Oh, it also comes with a personal message from Roger Federer.
Speaking at the reveal of the product, Federer said of the collaboration: “The minimalist design and easy comfort of On’s shoes had me hooked years ago. I wanted to infuse the tennis sneaker with the same lightness, comfort and agility for every day.”
The Roger is crafted from vegan leather and has been designed for lightness to reduce material consumption. The result is a significantly smaller environmental footprint for this tennis-inspired sneaker. The vegan leather has approximately 30% of the footprint of animal leather.
The Roger On line of products will be available across the Middle East from February 2021, in ultra-select fashion and lifestyle stores. On Running is brought to the Middle East by Enduro Supply – one of the region’s leading distributors of sports and lifestyle goods.
