The S-shaped links that form the steel bands of Tag Heuer are one of the most recognizable styles in the world of watches.
Used in the Swiss watchmaker’s appropriately named Link collection, the iconic design is not only lovely to behold but also built with purpose. Each steel link is rounded on its top, bottom, and sides, a finish that makes the entire bracelet smooth to the touch and also flexible on the wrist.
The design of the entire band itself also minimizes discomfort as it has been perfectly integrated with the case, thus eliminating the need for more parts like lugs, which can catch on the skin.
Previously used in a three-hand watch, these links are now partnered with robust chronographs, adding a sense of adventure to the elegant style.
Now, this complication is a natural move for Tag Heuer, a company that has been pushing the boundaries of accuracy with chronographs that can measure 1/10, 1/100, 1/1000 and 5/10,000 of a second.
The Link Chronograph features three counters, a small second counter at three o’clock, a minute counter at nine, and an hour counter at six, but though fitted with more information, the design remains sophisticated.
Note the case, which combines two shapes, a cushion and a ring. By implementing rounded corners, a softer and understated look is achieved.
There are two 41 mm versions to choose from: We are particularly moved by the sunray finish of the ocean blue dial, but there is also merit in the contrast of black and white of the dark version.
