Two legends collaborate for the launch of the latest adidas Originals collection

Want to hear the world’s worst-kept secret? We love a good fashion collaboration here at Esquire. So when the inevitable tie-in of Adidas’ two standout streetwear brand ambassadors – Stan Smith and Pharrell Williams – was announced, we were pretty darn happy.

The new sneaker collection is the latest output from Adidas Originals and celebrates two iconic sneaker designs: the Stan Smith and Pharrell Williams’ Tennis Hu.

Known as the Pharrell x adidas Tennis Hu Icons Pack and the adidas Originals Stan Smith Icons Pack, the collection includes fresh, pastel colourway of both silhouettes.

The collaboration makes perfect sense, especially with Pharrell’s Tennis Hu model being heavily influenced by the iconic Stan Smith design – it was only fitting that the music and style luminary would eventually team up with the tennis legend that the shoe is named after.

In his initial releast of the Tennis Hu – short for ‘Humans’- the Happy singer, re-interpreted the aesthetic elements of the classic Stan Smith shoe. This collection sees those light-weight sneakers back more colourful than ever, with a single tone-on-tone colouring, which includes Tactile Rose, Icey Blue and Linen Green; those are complemented by the classic Stan Smith white colourways with accent details on the heel and tongue.
