Lose your ‘corona kilos’ with Apple’s newfangled fitness apps

Apple will soon launch its own fitness subscription service, along with virtual classes and workouts accessible via your phone.

As the coronavirus pandemic pushed millions of people out of gyms, working out via your phone, laptop or television has become part of the new normal. It makes sense then that Apple would choose now to launch its first fitness subscription service, all accessible via your iPhone.

The new service is expected to be announced around October, alongside the new iPhone. While details about the project are still scarce, it’s expected that Apple’s streaming service will go up against the likes of Pelaton, and Nike.

While home fitness has been around since the invention of the television, popularity in virtual workouts and fitness classes have gone through the roof.

Aside from a new fitness service, Apple is also expected to wrap bundles of its service into a single package. Currently dubbed ‘Apple One’, the new service will include different tiers and price points, and will include the likes of Apple TV+, Apple Music, and the new fitness service.

A more expensive bundle will also include Apple News+, as well as iCloud storage.
