Well, he is called “the special one”

When once asked what his current value would be, Mourinho replied with tongue firmly in cheek: “one pound more than Neymar”.

Yesterday, Jose Mourinho stepped on to the pitch; not as a manager, assistant or translator but in between the sticks, in a game that witnessed time wasting, a booking and mind games all played by the master-mind himself.

The rarely-seen skills by the special one, were displayed for the masses in attendance. He let in 5 goals in a penalty shoot-out as he scored one of his own in a game that saw him feature along with several other celebrities;including Mo Farah, Damian Lewis, Olly Murs, to name a few;  in a charity football match that was played for the people affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

The man who has won 25 titles in his managing career, came on as a substitute for David James in goal, to a noisy reception, at Loftus Road.

Although, mocked at first by his manager for the game (Alan Shearer), he went on to prove his worth.

Speaking after the game, Mourinho joked that he had chosen to play as a goalkeeper so he didn’t “have to run so much”.

Manchester United fans can now probably sell David De Gea, if they ever go short on funds.
