Team sponsor Adidas have just unveiled the brand new kit designs for Algeria’s national football team. The campaign showcases some of Algeria’s leading national team players, who are captured sporting a nostalgia-tinged kit at the Stade du 5 Juillet, an iconic location in the heart of Algiers and home of some of the nation’s most memorable moments in football history.
Going down memory lane, the new kits consist of green and white colours in a bold striped pattern to offer a modern take on the classic 1982 federation kit which has been worn by some of Algeria’s football icons such as Chaâbane Merzekane, Lakhdar Belloumi and Rabah Madjer to name a few.

Now 40 years since Algeria’s historic performance, the re-imagined design is a stylish yet functional jersey that represents a proud identity and carries the legacy and story of their national team, who in their first ever appearance at the World Cup in 1982 would beat West Germany 2-1.

In addition to the official home and away kits, the collection includes a bespoke set inspired by the architectural design of the iconic El Mechouar Palace in Tlemcen.

Football has always been reliant on the speed and agility of players which is what led Adidas to create an innovative design that adapts to the needs of the game while honouring Algeria’s history and passion for the sport.
Ultimately, the kit serves as a bridge that connects fans across all generations of Algerian football.
