Egyptian star Mo Salah made international headlines when he vanished from social media, much to the dismay of Egyptian and Liverpool Football Club fans. But the truth has now emerged: it was all for an advertising campaign.
The star sparked multiple conspiracy theories after he deleted all his social media accounts, with fans wondering if it was because of issues with the Egyptian FA, while others took it to be a sign of his dedication to focus completely on ensuring the Liverpool wins the Premier League.
However, the hue and cry was all for nought.
DHL Express Egypt posted on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook earlier this week, saying: “We’ve reached Mo Salah and we can connect you to him”.

He was in Dubai with his Liverpool teammates who were training at the NAS Sports Complex. The ‘Egyptian King’ has also been spotted in Dubai at Cove Beach in Caesar Palace Bluewaters Dubai.
Salah has been photographed multiple times with Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan, and we’d like to think that they’re best mates. He was recently seen with the Crown Prince once again in a Dubai Sports Council tweet.

The footballer has been racking up the awards in 2019 and was recently named the ‘African Player of the Year’ as well.
Salah was in Dubai in early January for the 10th Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award. Not only did the Liverpool forward receive the ‘Outstanding Arab Athlete’ award, but he received it from Sheikh Hamdan itself.
Back in the UK, Salah has had an outstanding season, scoring his 50th Premier League goal in only his 72nd appearance for his team, with Liverpool currently topping the Premier League table four points ahead of Manchester City.
