Disneyland has unveiled Star Wars: Galaxy Edge in California
The extensions features all-new rides and experiences based around the Star Wars Universe
Fans can fly on the Millenium Falcon or spend time in the series’ classic Cantina
It’s currently reserved for die-hard fans and journalists, but will open to the public at the end of June

Disneyland has officially unveiled Star Wars: Galaxy Edge to a select few lucky fans. The extension of California’s Disneyland will be open to the public at the end of June.

The new Star Wars land cost a rumored US$1 billion to make. According to Chairman and CEO of The Walk Disney Company Bob Iger, “‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ is absolutely amazing and we are thrilled to finally share it with the world.”

“Now, for the first time, fans will be able to immerse themselves in the iconic stories that have captured audiences’ imaginations for decades and live their own Star Wars adventures in the most creative, innovative and ambitious land we’ve ever built.”

The park features rides – including one based on the Millennium Falcon – as well as classic Star Wars Characters roaming the park, including Stormtroopers and Chewbacca.

On the Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run – ride-goers get to control aspects of how they pilot Han Solo’s beloved spaceshop, with the story featuring multiple storylines.

Star Wars fans can also spend time in the famous Cantina, and enjoy exotic drinks such as a, “bloody rancor’ or a ‘carbon freeze’. There is also blue and green milk for those underage.

Elsewhere, you can build your own custom lightsaber and droid.
